Our Pollinator Committee increases awareness of the declining pollinator population and offers ways to help encourage pollinator preservation. The committee promotes the planting of pollinator friendly native perennials and annual plants. We pass out seeds and information at the Farmer’s Markets in Libertyville and Deerfield and provide information to the surrounding schools to aid in student projects to plant for pollinators.
We encourage residents to come view the two Monarch Waystation gardens we installed at Spring Lake Park for inspiration. Moreover, all the plants are labeled in case you would like to plant for pollinators in your garden.
Both Monarch Waystation Gardens at Spring Lake Park have been certified and registered through the Monarch Watch Organization.
1st Monarch Waystation located on the north side of the garden.
2nd Monarch Waystation located on the south side of the garden.
